Because everyone is welcome in AORTA, membership is a sliding scale. Pay what you feel is reasonable based on your income.

What is an AORTA membership?
The most important benefit of joining AORTA is being able to join other Oregonians in support of our mission; Creating a world class system of transit in Oregon.
Members of AORTA are eligible to participate in decision making, planning, joining committees, participating in votes, and helping shape the organization's strategy.
Members are also invited to join our Slack group, and members only events.
Who runs AORTA?
AORTA's board is elected by members. Our current board is listed here.
However our campaigns are driven first and foremost by ordinary members who decide what they want to devote their time towards.

Why should I join AORTA?
AORTA is powered by it's members, and achieving our vision of a world class system of transit in Oregon depends on people like you!
AORTA is a well organized group of passionate and informed people. By combining our voices in a strategic manner, we can have a major impact on electeds, transit agencies, and the public's perception of transit.
Where will the money go?
AORTA is an all volunteer organization, and does not have any paid staff. The primary uses for funds will be:
1: Pay for digital infrastructure that aid in our organizing (Zoom, MailChimp, this website)
2: Pay for our modest office in Portland Union Station
3: Make signs, stickers, buttons and other physical goodies!
4: Pizza & other snacks at events!
Occasionally funding will be used for necessary professional services such as legal advice and accounting.
